On View: September 10 – November 5, 2026 · Opening Reception: September 10, 6 PM · Discussion Panel: September 11, 12 PM
RA\G presents Supersymmetry, a group exhibition curated by Alina Khalitova, on view from September 10 through November 5, 2026. Bringing together ten artists, including several with connections to the Bronx, the exhibition unfolds within Reform Architecture as a meeting point between contemporary art, architectural thinking, and the surrounding cultural community.
Featuring works by Brigitte Bentele, Bella Romeo Civorelli, Shawne Cooper, Dionisio Cortes Ortega, Zemfira Mazukabzova, Sohhee Oh, Manas Ranjan, Julie Schaffer, Precious Utobunwa, and Kim White.
Presented within a working architectural environment rather than a conventional white-cube gallery, the exhibition creates space for exchange among artists, architects, and audiences.
Each artist was given two identically sized 20 × 40-inch stretched canvases. Together, the paired canvases create an approximately 40 × 40-inch square. Working from the same physical parameters, the ten artists developed markedly different responses to symmetry, repetition, reflection, tension, structure, and gesture.
The exhibition title takes its cue from the idea of supersymmetry in theoretical physics and translates the notion of counterpart and correspondence into visual and architectural terms. Symmetry — one of the most fundamental principles of the built environment — becomes both a formal constraint and a conceptual starting point. Within that shared frame, the ten interpretations diverge widely: some artists mirror, some break the axis, others let the seam between the two canvases carry the work.
Curated by Alina Khalitova, Supersymmetry brings together artists working across different practices and perspectives within a common formal framework.
RA\G is the exhibition space of Reform Architecture, directed by founding partner Dionisio Cortes Ortega. Its program explores the overlap between architectural thinking and contemporary art, creating an environment in which exhibitions can also become spaces for conversation and exchange.
The opening reception takes place on Thursday, September 10, 2026, at 6 PM. A public discussion with participating artists and curator Alina Khalitova follows on Friday, September 11, at 12 PM, extending the exhibition into a conversation around art, architecture, and the different ways artists respond to a shared structure.
